What is the personal case list?
The personal case list is a list of cases identified by you. For most advocates (who
are not intake workers), the personal case list is about all you will need from TIME. From
your personal case list, you can keep time, create ticklers, receive on-screen reports of
the time you have put in on a case and create printed time reports.
How do I get to my personal case list?
From the tool bar on the upper right hand side, click Case List.
Can I keep time on a case from my personal case list?
Yes. Highlight the case and click Time Slip. A time slip for that case will come
up.
Can I tickle an important date from my personal case list?
Yes. Highlight the case and click Tickler. A tickler slip for that case will
come up.
Can I see how much time I have put in on a case from my personal case list?
Yes. Highlight the case and click Show Activity. A list of your time slips for
the case will come up with the total hours.
Can I print a report of my time entries for a case from my personal case list?
Yes. Highlight the case and click Activity Report. Define what time slips you
want the report to cover and click Print Report.
Can I look at information on a client in the data base from my personal case list?
Yes. Highlight the case and click Retrieve Case. The client case will come up.
From here, you can review (and change if appropriate) the information on a client. You can
keep electronic "notes" on a client. You can write a letter to a client.
How do I add a case to my personal case list?
Bring up the case from TIME and click Add to Case List. To look up a case by the
clients name, click Find Name on the tool bar and enter the clients
name or Social Security number. Or if you have the case number, click Find Case and
enter the case number.
How do I delete a case from my personal case list?
Click Case List on the tool bar on the upper right hand side of the screen.
Highlight the case and click Remove from list at the bottom of the screen.
Why would I add or delete cases from my personal case list?
What if your co-worker was going on vacation and asked that you cover a few of her
cases. Because you would need to keep time on the cases (if you are an LSC grantee), you
could add these cases to your personal case list. If you worked on the case, you could
easily keep track of the time from your personal case list. When your co-worker returns,
you could remove them from your personal case list since you will no longer be making time
entries.
There probably are many other examples of why you would want to add or delete cases
from your personal case list.
What cases should I include on my personal case list?
Include any cases for which you will need to create time slips or tickle important
dates. Keep the list simple. When you no longer are keeping time or working on a case,
remove it from your personal case list.
