The Welfare/Job Centers are beginning to implement a new sanction law. This law is harsher than the old one, so BE PREPARED!
Under this law, families with an adult who refuses or fails to comply with the work requirement will have a larger portion of their benefits cut than ever before.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Families consisting of 2 people (a mother
and 1 child, for example) will have their monthly public assistance benefits reduced by
½. Families consisting of 3 people (a mother and 2 children, for example) will have their monthly public assistance benefits reduced by 1/3. Families consisting of 4 people (a mother and 3 children, for example) will have their monthly public assistance benefits reduced by 1/4. Families consisting of 5 people (a mother and 4 children, for example) will have their monthly public assistance benefits reduced by 1/5. In all cases, |
NOTE to SINGLES:
The law for the sanctioning of singles will remain the same. This means that singles who are sanctioned will lose all of their benefits, except their Medicaid, until the sanction period is over and the individual re-applies.
